On Monday night, Dec. 6th, 2021, the Georgia High Country Builders Association had its first social event to benefit the local food pantries.

The social event was held at the Cartecay Brewery in Ellijay, Ga, and featured Moving Targets who brought their hatchet-throwing trailer. La Catrina also participated by providing food.

The weather was great, a perfect 50°, which was not too cold.  We sold out our ponsorships which paid for our hatchet-throwing trailer and drinks. The profits from this event will be divided up for the local food pantries.

Providing cash to the local food pantries is an efficient and thrifty way to help provide families with food for the holidays.  The pantries can purchase the food that they need at discounted rates and it takes fewer resources than collecting canned food and delivering them.

This being our first social event we were super excited to see good participation. There was a lot of great networking. Sponsors were able to set up tables and participants were able to buy tickets for beer and hatchet throwing.

There were a lot of first-time Hatchett throwers but the competition was lighthearted and fun.

We are planning social events every quarter in 2022 and hope you can join us. Please check out our events page for dates and locations.
